I see a ministry where we can be free to play, where learning to come as a child empowers people to live boldly, creatively, and with joy... A place where living parables and metaphors teach in new ways... A place where scripture is explored from multiple perspectives without fear of rocking the boat... where rocking the boat is desired... the boat of our own preconceptions and attitudes. Just as a fire burns brighter if you stoke it, so does the fire of our faith if we stir it up... I'm out to stir it up.
The video, above, is a prime example of a living picture of understanding. If you can grasp what is being said by Mr. Giglio here... really get a grip on the picture of what he's saying and what that means for you and for life... it can change everything. Each new revelation God brings to us can change everything... if we are open to it. And to answer those who would say... "Oh we can explain this," or "We've discovered how that happens," I have only one thing to say... Just because we can explain it, doesn't mean God wasn't involved in it. It doesn't change truth. Living parables come in the forms of every day events, scientific discoveries, traditions, art, music & literature and more... they come in the voice of a child as they speak with blunt innocence, leaving everyone else to stare with their mouths hanging open... and in a moment of gazing on a tree that has grown AROUND a fence. Scripture can be explored through painting it, singing it, writing about it, and by applying it to everyday tasks. There really IS no limit to how God can speak to us, or to how we can walk out our relationship with Him. God gives us so much... He speaks to us in Word, yes; but He also speaks to us in things we see and hear all around us. Someone may say something that hits you differently than ever before, or you see something that suddenly makes you understand a concept He's been trying to teach you... His parables & illustrations are everywhere. The vision for this group is nothing less than renewed vision. |
 Hab 2:2 "And Jehovah answered me and said, 'Write the vision, and make it plain on the tablets, that he who reads it may run.'" The Lord has assigned to me speaking, painting and otherwise illustrating the visions He gives me, the things He teaches me, the love and understanding He shows me. But my task is not that you may run, rather, that you may stand. It is in this way that I fulfill the Great Commission.
